The RAPHIA sideboard is an exploration of linear repetition and organic stratification. As a signature piece in our Collectable Collection, it reimagines traditional cabinetry through the lens of primitive weaving and architectural volume. The expansive, curved body is entirely encased in hand-applied natural raffia, creating a rhythmic, tactile surface of fine vertical lines that capture light and shadow across the pill-shaped form. This organic shell is capped with a substantial slab of polished black marble, featuring high-contrast white veining that provides a cold, permanent counterpoint to the warmth of the straw. The piece is elevated by a slender aged silver plinth, which features a dramatic asymmetrical cutout and a singular cylindrical “foot” that provides a balanced, tectonic stance.
