Tilt

Barstool

The TILT barstool is a compelling exploration of sharp mid-century lines, structural multi-material layering, and precise geometric angles. Moving away from purely vertical or rounded shapes, it introduces a dynamic, backward-leaning frame that brings a strong graphic silhouette to upscale kitchen counters and residential bars. The primary structural framework is block-milled from solid hardwood and finished in a rich, dark ebonized ash, preserving the natural cathedral grain texture beneath the smooth surface.

The core design narrative focuses on the beautiful interplay between tailored upholstery and crisp woodwork. The square seat deck and low-slung, angled backrest are enveloped in a premium warm taupe leather featuring a distinctive pebbled grain. Both comfort panels are detailed with grid-like biscuit stitching, dividing the surfaces into clean rectangular quadrants that keep the leather taut and structured. The backrest pillars are slightly angled at the top to create a subtle backward tilt, maximizing ergonomic comfort while adding a clean architectural edge.

The joinery showcases master-level artisanal craftsmanship. Connecting the angled backrest posts to the horizontal seat frame are custom-milled antique brass corner plates secured with flush-mounted pins. This exposed metalwork acts as a beautiful piece of jewelry against the dark wood frame. Grounding the tall, tapered legs is a clean, central H-bar footrest built from matching ebonized ash, ensuring excellent structural stability while maintaining a light visual profile.
